Celebrating Innovation and Empowerment: Highlights from the CIO 100 Awards and MobiGirlz Recognition

The CIO 100 Awards Workshop celebrated excellence in IT leadership, innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies such as generative AI and edge computing. Held from November 20–22, 2024, at Enashipai Resort, the event featured keynotes, roundtables and award-winning presentations, providing a platform for IT leaders to exchange ideas and foster collaboration. 

MobiGirlz, an eMobilis initiative empowering young women to embrace STEM, was nominated in the Education category, reflecting its impactful mentorship programs and innovative solutions that inspire the next generation of female tech leaders.

In addition to recognizing outstanding achievements in IT, the event emphasized the transformative potential of technology in education and beyond. Programs such as MobiGirlz demonstrate how mentorship and targeted initiatives can bridge gaps in STEM participation, while organizations like Computers For Schools Kenya (CFSK) showcase the power of digital literacy and sustainability. Together, these efforts highlight the critical role of collaboration and innovation in driving progress, empowering communities and shaping a tech-driven future.
