Strengthening Cybersecurity: APHRC's Tailored Training for Enhanced ICT Preparedness

In March 2024, eMobilis conducted a Corporate Training for the African Population Health Research Center (APHRC) on Cybersecurity and Auditing Training for its 10-member ICT team. Held at the Jacaranda Hotel in Nairobi, the training aimed to equip participants with skills to perform internal pre-audits and enhance preparedness for cybersecurity challenges before external audits. Led by experts such as Francis Kuria, Senior Information Systems Auditor at PostBank Kenya, the program featured tailored content designed to address APHRC's specific needs and pain points.
Key outcomes included practical sessions on auditing systems and cybersecurity practices, with participants expressing increased confidence in tackling organizational challenges. Feedback emphasized the value of hands-on labs and proposed future enhancements like incorporating hacking simulations and follow-up assessments to gauge long-term impact. The training underlined APHRC's commitment to strengthening its ICT infrastructure and safeguarding organizational data.
